Who we are.
The Kiowa County Fire Protection District (KCFPD), established in 2016, is dedicated to providing exceptional fire and rescue services to our community, with a steadfast commitment to the safety of both our residents and the volunteers who selflessly serve. The prevention of personal injury and property damage remains the highest priority for every member of our department. We continuously strive for excellence in both safety and service delivery.
KCFPD possesses all powers granted to Colorado special districts under common law and the Special District Act, including, but not limited to, the general powers outlined in C.R.S. § 32-1-1001 and the additional powers specific to fire protection districts under C.R.S. § 32-1-1002. In accordance with, and in full exercise of, the general and specific powers and authority provided by the Special District Act and other applicable federal, state, and local laws (including all inherent and implied powers), KCFPD's services will encompass, but are not limited to: urban, rural, and wildland-urban interface fire protection; fire suppression and related investigative activities; as well as fire prevention initiatives and public education programs.
